Last week Friday, 27th February, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs paid an official assessment visit to the Ugwumba Centre for Leadership Development in Africa as part of the Centre’s registration and formal recognition process with the Ministry.
The visit was both inspiring and impactful. The Ministry’s delegation engaged extensively with the Management team of the Ugwumba Leadership Centre, reviewed programme structures, governance framework, impact reports, and toured key operational units of the Centre. Particular attention was given to Ugwumba’s flagship initiatives focused on women empowerment, youth development, entrepreneurship support, widows’ care, and economic inclusion.
The assessment team commended the Centre’s bold vision, structured programming, and measurable impact especially its commitment to empowering women through enterprise development, access to funding opportunities, capacity building, and mentorship platforms. The Ministry acknowledged the Centre’s alignment with national priorities on gender equity, economic empowerment, and sustainable community development.
The visit marks a significant milestone in UCLDA’S institutional growth and strengthens the pathway toward formal registration and strategic collaboration with the Ministry. It also opens doors for deeper partnership opportunities that will expand impact across Nigeria and beyond.
Overall, the engagement was exciting, affirming, and promising reinforcing Ugwumba Leadership Centre’s position as a credible, purpose-driven institution committed to raising transformational leaders and advancing women’s empowerment in Africa.
