Ugwumba Leadership Center Hosts Inspiring 2026 International Women’s Day Conference

The Ugwumba Leadership Center successfully hosted the 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD) / Ugwumba Women Academy Conference on Thursday, March 12, bringing together women leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from across Nigeria and the global community for a powerful virtual gathering.

Held under the theme “Give To Gain,” the conference served as an inspiring platform for meaningful conversations on women’s leadership, empowerment, and inclusive development across Nigeria and Africa.

The online event attracted participants from different sectors, including business, governance, civil society, and social development. Speakers and attendees joined from Nigeria, the United States, and the United Kingdom, reinforcing the conference’s global impact and collaborative spirit.

Inspiring Conversations and Leadership Insights

The conference featured insightful discussions and inspiring presentations from notable leaders, entrepreneurs, and advocates who are driving change in their respective fields. Speakers shared valuable experiences and strategies on leadership, innovation, mentorship, and the importance of supporting women to achieve their full potential.

Participants were encouraged to embrace the spirit of the theme “Give To Gain,” emphasizing that by sharing knowledge, supporting others, and creating opportunities, individuals and communities can unlock greater growth and collective success.

The event also provided an opportunity for participants to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen networks committed to advancing gender equality and empowering women across various sectors.

Empowering Women Through the U-Fund

A key highlight of the event was the continued commitment of the Ugwumba Leadership Center to empowering grassroots women entrepreneurs through the U-Fund for Women initiative.

As part of the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration, 10 women were empowered on the event today, receiving financial support to strengthen their small businesses and improve their livelihoods.

This initiative reflects the Center’s ongoing mission to create sustainable economic opportunities for women, particularly those at the grassroots level, and to promote inclusive development within communities.

A Growing Movement for Women’s Empowerment

The 2026 International Women’s Day / Ugwumba Women Academy Conference once again demonstrated the growing momentum behind the movement to empower women and support female leadership across Africa.

Through initiatives like this conference and the U-Fund for Women, the Ugwumba Leadership Center continues to create platforms that inspire women, build leadership capacity, and drive meaningful social and economic impact.

As participants reflected on the day’s discussions and insights, the message remained clear: empowering women today is key to building a stronger, more inclusive future for all.
