Swedish Ambassador in Nigeria commends the Ugwumba Leadership Center

Today in Abuja, the Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency, Annika Hahn-Englund commended the Management of the Ugwumba Leadership Center for contributing towards youth and women development in Nigeria.

She said this through Mr. Jöran Bjällerstedt, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Sweden in Abuja when the leadership of the Center led by His Excellency, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu paid her a courtesy call.

According to our President, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the Center embarked on the visit in order to welcome the new Ambassador to Nigeria and to familiarize with the new team. He informed them of the cordial relationship that existed between the Center and the Embassy during the tenure of the former Ambassador, His Excellency, Carl Michael Gräns in Nigeria.

Earlier in his introductory speech, our Executive Director, Mr. Remy Chukwunyere informed the Ambassador that the mission of the Ugwumba Leadership Center is to raise a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs for Africa with a focus on youths and women. He outlined a number of milestones achieved by the Center, including the thousands of young and women entrepreneurs who have been trained and empowered financially.

According to him, most beneficiaries of the Center’s job creation programs have grown their businesses and have become employers of labour, thereby contributing to the GDP of Nigeria and in reducing the unemployment crisis in the country.

In his response, the Ambassador represented by her Deputy, Mr. Jöran Bjällerstedt commended the center for its contributions to the development of the country and promised to continue to participate in the programs of the center.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
