Nigeria@60! Our Special Gift…

As Nigeria marks its 60th Independence Anniversary today, we hereby announce the opening of applications for the 2020 Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge, tagged the #UECLockDownEdition.

The challenge is an idea pitching and grant competition for young entrepreneurs and innovators in Nigeria between 18 and 30 years of age who have ideas that can be transformed into business ventures and social enterprises.

We have earmarked over N4m in grant prizes for the best 10 innovations and business ideas that shall be pitched during this year’s edition of the #UgwumbaEnterpriseChallenge.

In 2019 alone, we empowered over 2,000 young entrepreneurs who are today Founders and CEOs of their various businesses in different sectors of the economy.

The Challenge is our own contribution to the job creation, unemployment reduction and economic development policies of the Government of Nigeria and those of African nations.

We salute all our #UgwumbaFellows across the country who have continued to run with the knowledge and skills they acquired from us during the two editions of the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge in Owerri, Imo State on the 24th of May, 2019 and in Abuja on the 30th of August, 2019.

This year, we are prepared to empower over 1,000 young Nigerians through this #lockdown edition.

The colorful unveiling ceremony of the application portal took place yesterday by our President, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.

So, starting from today, all young Nigerians within 18 and 30 years of age who have ideas that can solve the problems of the Nigerian society can start submitting their applications.
