The Management of the Ugwumba Leadership Center led by His Excellency, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu joined the Hungarian Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Gabor Krauss for the 10th anniversary celebration of the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme.
At the ceremony, Dr. Gabor Krauss announced that every year, about 100 Nigerians benefit from the Scholarship program from the Government of Hungary to study various courses in Hungary.
Speaking at the event, our President, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu said, “the impact of the scholarship in our economic development is enormous, having benefited thousands of Nigerian youths since inception in 2013. I want to appreciate the Government of Hungary for this laudable program and to appeal that the number of beneficiaries from #Nigeria be increased considering the population of youths in Nigeria, seeking opportunities for higher #education.”
He equally thanked the Federal Government of Nigeria for the cordial relationship it maintains with the Government of Hungary, which is the reason for the number of scholarship slots allocated to Nigerians in this program.
He promised that the Ugwumba Leadership Center would engage with the Government of Hungary through its embassy in Nigeria to appeal that the number of slots for Nigerians be increased to about 200 or more, annually.
The ceremony also had other stakeholders from the Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Youths, NGOs, etc. We celebrate the Hungarian Republic for this kind gesture!
