Introduction to Entrepreneurship with Ms. Weyinmi Eribo

This week, the African Students Leadership Academy, powered by the Ugwumba Leadership Center, will introduce young African students to the concept of entrepreneurship, aiming to equip them to become job creators post-graduation. This initiative is in line with the primary objectives of the Ugwumba Leadership Center, established by His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu in 2018.

Leading this session is Ms. Weyinmi Eribo, the Director General of the Women Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (WCCIMA). With over 15 years of extensive experience in various sectors, including oil and gas, extractives, impact investing, international development, and entrepreneurship, Ms. Eribo brings a wealth of knowledge to the table.

Her academic credentials are equally impressive. Ms. Eribo is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Business at SOAS University of London. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Delta State University, Abraka, and has earned numerous certificates from prestigious institutions, including the Enterprise Development Centre, Lagos Business School, and HarvardX.

Ms. Eribo’s accolades include being an Acumen West Africa ’22 fellow, a StartingBloc ’19 Social Innovation Fellow, a World Bank Scholar, and an Orange Knowledge Program Scholar, among others.

The session, scheduled for Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 4 pm WAT, will take place online at https://bit.ly/Ugwumba-ASLA-Forum. Participants can expect to gain invaluable insights from one of the most accomplished business leaders in the field.

The Ugwumba Leadership Center continues to highlight entrepreneurship as a critical solution to the youth unemployment crisis in Africa, providing young leaders with the tools and knowledge needed to drive economic growth and innovation across the continent.
