As A Youth, Who’s Your Role Model?

Ladies and gentlemen, on The Leadership Show next week, Wednesday, February 03, 2021 by 12 noon WAT, we are going to feature one of those young Nigerians admitted into our Roll Call of Rebrand Nigeria Ambassadors as our guest.

He is Mr. Ikenna Nweke… do you remember him? Anyway, just continue reading…

On June 19, 2020, a Nigerian, an Igbo man, a PhD student in Japan demonstrated in practice the true meaning of the biblical injunction that says… “train a child in the way he should go and when he grows up, he will not depart from it”

This Nigerian in Diaspora picked up a wallet containing a huge sum of money in hard currency. Rather than disappear with it, he reported the incident and handed over the wallet to the security agencies in Japan. When he was offered 10% of the total money, he rejected it and further refused to accept that the money would automatically become his if the owner does not claim it after three months. By this singular act, this man used the opportunity to prove to the world that Nigerians are good people, even though, there are some bad eggs among us, with a population that is an insignificant minority.

The man we are talking about is Mr. Ikenna Nweke, our guest on the Leadership Show, next week. He is from Amauzari, Isiala-Mbano LGA of Imo state and attended Comprehensive Primary School Okpoko and Comprehensive Secondary School, Onitsha, Anambra State.

He obtained a Diploma from the Enugu State University for Science and Technology before leaving for Japan, where he obtained a Bachelors and a Masters in International Area Studies from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. Mr. Ikenna Nweke is currently a PhD student of Security Studies at the same University of Tsukuba, Japan.

As a very bright and intelligent Nigerian, he secured and enjoyed the Global 30 Scholarship between 2013 and 2017 as well as the Rotary Yoneyama Foundation Scholarship between 2018 and 2019.

For making Nigeria proud, he has been honoured in several ocassions by President Muhammed Buhari (GCFR); Dr. Arunma Oteh (Former Vice and Treasurer of World Bank); Chief Emeka Ihedioha (Former governor of Imo State); Dr. Geoffery Onyeama; Chief Osita Chidoka (former minister for Aviation); Christian and Muslim Organizations; Japanese Embassy in Nigeria, Nigerian Embassy in Japan, among others.

He has also been interviewed by more than 28 media organizations in and outside Nigeria. A documentary about his life and story was released on the 22nd of December, 2020 by Asahi TV, one of the leading TV stations in Japan.

Mr. Ikenna was the President of the Association of African Students, University of Tsukuba between 2015 and 2016 as well as President of the Tsukuba University Model United Nations in 2018.

To inculcate this integrity and lifestyle among other youths in Nigeria, Mr. Ikenna founded the INFO Club International, a non-religious, non-political, and non-ethnic youth-based club with an overall objective of raising a generation of integrity-conscious, honest, and selfless Nigerians.

So, ladies and gentlemen, we are bringing this great young Nigerian to discuss issues that bother on integrity and who should our youths look up to as their role models.

This event is a MUST for every young Nigerian, wherever you are around the world. To join us, simply visit to subscribe and wait for us on Wednesday, Februray 03, 2021 by 12 noon WAT.
