The Ugwumba Council pledges more support for Africa

Rising from its first Council Meeting in 2024, the leadership of the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa yesterday pledged more support towards the empowerment of youths and women in Africa.

Addressing the Council members, the President of the Center, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu said: “Today, we have come to renew our commitment towards raising a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs for Africa. There is no better time to do this than now. The rate of poverty and unemployment in Africa has continued to rise despite the abundant natural and human resources God Almighty blessed us with. We know that the government alone cannot do it. That was why we founded the Ugwumba Leadership Center in 2018, to be able to contribute our quota in surmounting these challenges ravaging our continent.”

In their separate remarks, the BoT Chairman, HRH Othman Bilyaminu Usman, the Emir of Dass; and the Advisory Board Chairman, Mr. Rajan Nazran congratulated the members for the achievements recorded by the Center so far, and called for more support using their networks across the globe.

Mr. Emil Ekiyor, the CEO of InnoPower Indy used the opportunity to announce the ongoing partnership with the Center and Elevate Ventures, USA which shall empower participating Ugwumba startups with both skills development and pre-seed funding.

Lending their voices, Prof. Remi Duyile, former Vice President, Bank of America; Chris Foltz, Managing Director of Responsible Solutions; Dr. Karim R. Ellis – #1 Breakthrough Strategist & Motivational Speaker; Mr. Ismaila Damcida, AgroCommodity Trader; Dr. Dr-Alisa Whyte, CEO of Fulfillment Empowerment Network; Soponar Eduard, CEO of The Connecter ; Sumit Gupta, CCO, Web3 Carnival; and Mrs. Ngozi Eke Oyewole, CEO of Noxie Limited harped on the need for the Center to galvanize the support of Nigerians and Africans in Diaspora in order to expand the scope of its impacts.

The 2 hours meeting moderated by the Board Secretary and Executive Director, Remy Chukwunyere ended with a renewed determination to do more for Africa!
