Building sustainable partnerships: A visit to the Abuja Enterprise Agency

Yesterday, April 29, 2021, the President of the Ugwumba Leadership Center, Mr. Uche Nwosu led his management on a working visit to the Abuja Enterprise Agency.

Addressing his august visitors, the Managing Director of the agency, ably represented by the Deputy General Manager, Mallam Shehu Abdulkadir informed that the Abuja Enterprise Agency is the FCT vehicle for wealth creation, employment generation, poverty eradication and value orientation with a mandate to facilitate business growth in the Federal Capital Territory.

He further said that the Agency focuses on the development of micro, small and medium enterprises and aims to assist new and existing entrepreneurs to overcome obstacles to growth through access to finance, proper business planning and developing entrepreneurship skills.

He concluded by harping on the need for the Abuja Enterprise Agency and the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa to formalize their relationship to enable future collaborations for faster realization of the missions of both centers, which is to facilitate job creation for the teeming unemployed Nigerian youths.

Responding our President, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu thanked the DGM and the Management of the Agency for always supporting and participating in our annual business pitching and grant competition called the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge since 2019 it debuted in Abuja. He congratulated them for their giant strides in facilitating economic development and job creation in Nigeria through the provision of business support and access to finance services to young and women entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

He assured them that the partnership with the Ugwumba Leadership Center shall in no small measure increase the scope of their activities and impacts across the country, since the operations of the center is not limited to the Abuja metropolis. The DGM thereafter led the delegation on a tour of their facilities, including the FCT MSME One-Stop Shop; the Workspace; the Conference Hall; etc.

In the coming weeks, we shall report the commencement of our joint projects after the MOU signing ceremony.At the Ugwumba Leadership Center, we are committed in creating jobs to reduce the unemployment crisis ravaging the youth population in Nigeria!
