Harnessing Global Opportunities for Africa’s development

Ladies and gentlemen, we are glad to announce that next week on The Leadership Show, we are bringing to you Emil Ekiyor, a great Nigerian living in Diaspora, who is driving a revolution in the enterprise development ecosystem in Africa.

He is a member of the International Advisory Council of the Ugwumba Leadership Center and the person that made the 2020 #UgwumbaEnterpriseChallenge, a global event.

Our guest, Emil Ekiyor was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He left his family at the age of 15 to pursue educational opportunities in the United States. He attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando where he was a two-time captain of the university’s football team.

After an outstanding college career, Emil went on to play six years in the National Football League with the Tampa Bay Bucs, Atlanta Falcons, and Oakland Raiders. Today, Emil has a 19-year-old son Emil Junior, a Sophomore at the University of Alabama.

Emil was the National Executive Director for the GEO Foundation, a nonprofit organization that partners with local community leaders to start, support, and manage high-quality K-12 charter schools across the US.

Emil is involved in several projects in Nigeria and Africa, as the Founder and CEO of Innopower, a client-focused community development organization that works with communities and stakeholders to navigate the challenges of realizing their vision for communal change.

InnoPower has a unique focus on innovations in and for minority communities, creating capacity-building opportunities for underrepresented businesses and by developing finance-smart leaders, and leveraging external financing and networks to support venture growth and take-off.

In his free time, Emil serves on the Board of the Indianapolis Chapter of Indiana Black Expo, President of Indy Youth Sports, and Board of Directors for the Friends of Education, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to improving K-12 education in Minnesota since 1999.

As the CEO of InnoPower USA, which is one of our major partners, Emil Ekiyor is the mastermind of the forthcoming 2021 Ugwumba Startup Development Program, which is designed to empower 100 #UgwumbaFellows with business development skills and global investments in a LIVE business pitch scheduled to happen sometime in June, 2021 in the US.

On the Show on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 by 12 noon WAT, Emil Ekiyor will be engaged in a robust conversation on how #Nigerians in Diaspora are harnessing #globalopportunities for development in Nigeria and Africa, at large.

This is a MUST for all young entrepreneurs and innovators in Africa. To join us LIVE on Wednesday, please, subscribe for FREE at www.youtube.com/c/UgwumbaLeadershipCenter
