Norwegian Ambassador commends Ugwumba Uche Nwosu for supporting youths development in Nigeria

Today in Abuja, the Ambassador of Norway to Nigeria, His Excellency, Ambassador Knut Eiliv Lein commended Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the President of the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa for his contributions to the development of youths in Nigeria.

The Ambassador who spoke through Mr. Hans Peter Christopherson, the Norwegian Trade Counsellor said “leaders are essential in the growth and development of any nation or organization, therefore your leadership training programs targeted at young people in Nigeria is very apt and commendable. We shall support you by connecting your Center with companies and organizations from Norway and ensure that young entrepreneurs supported by your center participate in more business networking events like the Nordic Nigeria Connect, which we had in Lagos last year.”

Earlier in his address, Mr. Remy Chukwunyere, the Executive Director of the Ugwumba Leadership Center congratulated the embassy for jointly hosting the 2021 Nordic Nigeria Connect in Lagos, which was very successful in all ramifications.

According to Remy Chukwunyere, such business networking opportunities should happen more regularly in Nigeria as they have the potentials to attract direct foreign investments into the country as seen in the many partnership discussions that were initiated in Lagos, last year.

Mr. Chukwunyere used the opportunity to recount the impacts the center has made so far in the lives of young and women entrepreneurs in Nigeria and called for a future collaboration with the embassy to be able to increase the scope of these impacts by exposing the thousands of startup founders and entrepreneurs supported by the Center to investors from Norway and the Nordic region.

On the delegation with the Executive Director, Remy Chukwunyere were program staff of the Center, Rebecca Amos and Mathew Ogu.

Stay tuned for updates from this partnership meeting as the discussion continues!

To God be the glory!
