Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps partners Ugwumba Leadership Center

Yesterday in Abuja, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the President of the Ugwumba Leadership Center approved a new partnership with the Sports Committee of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in support of sports development in the country.

Addressing the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps delegation led by Mr. D.A Abi, the Ag. Assistant Commandant General in charge of Training and Manpower Development, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu informed that youth development through sports is one of the major objectives of the Ugwumba Leadership Center and therefore approved that the Center would support them financially in the forthcoming OSOM Games (All Security Agencies Games), scheduled to kick off on the 8th of April, 2022.

He used the opportunity to commend the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi for the many laurels the NSCDC Sports unit has won for the country and therefore promised that the center will partner with them to ensure that more of the Civil Defenders develop their talents in the sports sector.

Earlier in his speech, the leader of the delegation, Mr. D.A Abi, the Ag. Assistant Commandant General in charge of Training and Manpower Development commended Ugwumba Uche Nwosu for the landmark achievements he has recorded in the country through the programs and activities of his private foundation.

He informed that the Sport Unit of the NSCDC has won so many gold and silver medals for the country in several international tournaments, such as Olympics, Commonwealth Games, etc.

In his speech, Engr. Bruno Iwu, a Consultant to NSCDC announced that partnering with the NSCDC Sports Department would be a good venture for the Ugwumba Leadership Center since its focus is on youth development and job creation for the unemployed youths in the country.

Earlier, while welcoming the NSCDC team, the Executive Director of the Center, Remy Chukwunyere informed that the Ugwumba Leadership Center has a mandate to raise a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs for Africa and that the center works with youths and women in other to achieve their objectives.

He announced that since 2018, the center has impacted on the lives of over 10,000 youths and women with its leadership and enterprise development programs and would be happy to partner with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
