Today, we joined other world leaders around the world in an event we organized to celebrate the 2022 International Women’s Day.
Since we launched our Ugwumba Women Academy, it has become our custom every year to mark the International Women’s Day with our annual event called, the Ugwumba International Women’s Conference.
During the ceremony, we had two amazing sessions that had far reaching impacts on the lives of the Ugwumba Women that participated from around the world.
As an organization that works with youths and women, we recognize and appreciate the immeasurable contributions of women in the society. In fact, several reports available to us have shown that organizations and companies led by women do better than those run by their male counterparts.
In all our programs, we do not have bias against women. They have always been given the opportunity to showcase themselves. For example, in 2020, Bilkisu Garba won our overall prize at the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge. Again, in 2021, another lady, Kedei Ibiang won one of the top prizes.
May we therefore use this opportunity to appreciate the contributions of the following persons who made the event a success: our President, H.E Ugwumba Uche Nwosu and his wife Lolo Uloma Nwosu, the Vice President of the Center; Mr. Rajan Nazran, our International Advisory Council Chairman; all our partners: Ricky Laub-Turner of MEEK UK; Austin Enekwa (USA); all our Guest Speakers: Rhoda Harriet Khataba of Her Story Matters (UK); Ebi Elezianya of iTeach Africa Initiatives (Abuja); Harpreet Ghumman (USA); Temi Alade-Mustapha of Money Mathematicians Network (Ibadan); Kolo Ezra Zhiri of FUT Minna and all the great Ugwumba Women from across the country.
Once again, “Happy International Women’s Day!”
