The President of the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has reiterated the urgent need for the Government and other stakeholders to support the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises in the country in order to grow and stabilize the Nigerian economy.
He said this at the flag off ceremony of the weeklong 2021 Abuja SME Expo organized by the Abuja Enterprise Agency, few days ago. He applauded the initiative, which is in its second year, saying that it will indeed encourage local manufacturers by exposing their products to both local and international market opportunities.
He further announced that the Ugwumba Leadership Center shall be a part of the project in 2022 since the Center is already in partnership with the Abuja Enterprise Agency.
Earlier in his speech, Mallam Shehu Abdulkadir, the MD/CEO of the Abuja Enterprise Agency informed that the Abuja SME Expo is a platform designed for MSMEs to showcase their excellent local products and services to be able to attract investors. According to him, “with the Abuja SME Expo, participating brands will be able to enhance their capacities to export their products, having developed their capacities to feature in the global market.”
Thereafter, the MD/CEO of the Abuja Enterprise Agency took his august visitor, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu round the exhibition stands, where he encouraged the various businesses by patronizing them.
Other stakeholders present at the flag off ceremony were the Executive Director of the Center, Remy Chukwunyere and representatives of government agencies, such as: NIPCO; NAFDAC; SON; NEXIM; etc
