How to access funds for your business

Good afternoon, great people of Nigeria and Africa and welcome to another edition of #TheLeadershipShow!

This week we shall focus our conversation on an issue that concerns every business, regardless of the size or location. Funding is a critical challenge for many small businesses and that is why many business ideas around the world, no matter how innovative do not see the light of the day. It is an essential factor in the establishment and growth of any business. Unfortunately, accessing funds from external sources, either from development finance institutions or from commercial banks is not easy.

Regrettably, many entrepreneurs or business owners are not aware of the enormous funding opportunities provided by the Government to support MSMEs in development finance institutions, such as Central Bank of Nigeria; Bank of Industry; Bank of Agriculture; NIRSAL Micro Finance Bank; etc.

Therefore, to share with our audience of young and women entrepreneurs how they can access financial support for their business, we have invited Mr. Seye Olurotimi, a specialist in SME branding.

Mr. Seye is the Founder/CEO of MSME Africa, a multifaceted resource platform for micro, small and medium sized businesses in Africa that provides capacity building and funding opportunities entrepreneurs and startup founders.

His passion for entrepreneurship is evident in his appointment as a mentor for the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) Entrepreneurship Program; Cherie Blair Foundation’s Women in Business Program; Fate Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Program; LEAP Africa’s Social Innovators Program; and Mentoring Africa Foundation.
