Today in Abuja, the President of the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu redeemed the pledge he made to one Mr. Ibikunle Hammed Olasunkanmi, a physically challenged young man from Ibadan, Oyo State.
Handing over the cheque of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) to Zara Onyinye, who represented Mr. Ibikunle at the ceremony in Abuja, Mr. Remy Chukwunyere, the Executive Director of the Center informed that his principal, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is a man with a large heart, who cannot stand seeing people in such conditions.
Mr Remy Chukwunyere recounted how his boss also flew into Lagos from Imo State, few months ago in order to bring succor to a young lady, Mary Daniels, an amputee who used to sell pure water on the streets of #Oshodi in Lagos. Soon after that gesture, other good spirited individuals from across the country made donations to her and today, she is a landlady in Lagos with a water manufacturing company of her own.
He thereafter congratulated Mr. Ibikunle for attracting the attention of his boss, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu and that of the Center and said he should expect other people to follow suit and also demanded that he should use the fund to establish the shoe making workshop as he requested, as this is a rare opportunity for him to secure a better for himself.
Recall that the photo of this young man as attached herewith went viral on social media last week during his birthday. When the photo caught the attention of our President, he immediately called Zara Onyinye, the initiator of the post and requested to speak with Mr. Ibikunle Hammed.
It was during the call that our President, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu pledged the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) on behalf of the Ugwumba Leadership Center to enable the man establish a shoe making workshop, as requested.
Today, that pledged has been redeemed to the glory of God!
