The fireside chat on the Ugwumba Leadership Talk Show this afternoon with Weyinmi Eribo, Grants Manager at SME.NG revealed that the Ebi Marketplace is a one-stop shop for women entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
Below are a few takeaways we brought to you. To hear more, just click on the video above!
On the Ebi Marketplace, women entrepreneurs have access to our grant programs, such as the Ebi Fund, We Fund and other such funds we implement in partnership with some private investors and philanthropic organizations that we work with. They will also have access to loan programs and financial services we are offering in partnership with the Bank of Industry, Access Bank PLC, LAPO Micro Finance Bank, etc.
Requirements for Grant and Loan Application…
For women entrepreneurs to participate in any of these grants and loan programs, they must pass through our “She Works Here Accelerator” program, which helps us prepare them for such investments. That is how we ensure that the loans are recoverable because, we conduct adequate due diligence on them and their businesses.
The Ebi Mall…
Apart from providing access to finance opportunities for the women, the platform also provides a marketplace for women to register as vendors and begin to market their products and services. To make sure that we do not exclude women in the rural areas, who do not have access to the internet, we have decided to group them into cooperatives, so that the various cooperatives can represent them and enable them market their products.
