Today, the Managing Director of the Abuja Enterprise Agency, Alhaji Arabi Muhammed Tukur has announced his agency’s partnership with the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa.
The Abuja Enterprise Agency is the FCT vehicle for wealth creation, employment generation, poverty eradication and value re-orientation with a mandate to facilitate business growth in the Federal Capital Territory. This partnership became possible after a thorough study and evaluation of our impact investment and job creation programs, which are all aimed at reducing the unemployment crisis ravaging the youth population in Nigeria.
Recall that last year, the Abuja Enterprise Agency was part of the agencies of government that participated in the second edition of the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge without a commitment on their part. We are therefore glad to announce that this year, the MD/CEO of the agency directed his second, Mr. Shehu Abdulkadir, the Deputy General Manager, to lead a high powered delegation of his management to the 2020 edition of this idea pitching and grant competition that is changing the enterprise development ecosystem in Nigeria.
Reacting to this development, our President, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu said: “We are so grateful to the MD of Abuja Enterprise Agency for accepting to work with us. At the Ugwumba Leadership Center, we are desirous of raising a new generation of African youths, who will no longer depend on the government to create jobs for them but will create jobs for themselves, even while studying for their degrees in the universities and other higher institutions.”
Ladies and gentlemen, we understand that we cannot achieve this tall objective alone. That is why this partnership with the AEA and other such agencies in Nigeria are very important to us.
As you can see from the above, our partnership with the agency will increase investment opportunities for youths in the FCT and its environs.
